What can CDPAP do for me?

CDPAP promotes your independence and freedom by allowing you to hire any caregiver of your choice. The caregiver can be a relative, friend or neighbor, allowing you to enjoy the comfort and peace of mind that you are being cared for by someone you trust. CDPAP also means flexible scheduling to suit your needs and a formal weekly payroll structure for your caregivers.

What kinds of services are included in CDPAP?

The CDPAP caregiver can provide the same services that a personal care aide, home health aide, and nurse can.

How do I find out if I or a loved one is qualified for the program?

To qualify for the CDPAP program, you must be eligible for New York State Medicaid services. You will also need to have a Doctor’s Order and a designated representative to direct your care. If you are not sure if you are eligible, reach out to XinCon by calling 347-508-4727 or applying online.

Who can provide care under CDPAP program?

The only people who do not qualify to give care under the CDPAP program are your parents, spouse or your pre-existing designated caregiver representative. Any other family members or friends can be your personal assistant.

What are the requirements to become a CDPAP personal assistant?

There are just two requirements needed to become a personal assistant in the CDPAP program.

  • The person must be authorized to work in the US.
  • The person must meet the State’s required health standards.

Note that a HHA/PCA certificate is NOT required to provide care under the CDPAP program.

What is Xincon’s role as Fiscal Intermediary (FI) in hiring someone via the CDPAP program?

Under State Medicaid regulations, reimbursement for consumer-directed care must be arranged through a recognized fiscal intermediary (FI). The FI’s main role is to process the personal assistant’s wages, taxes, benefits, liability insurance requirements, etc. The FI is also in charge of record-keeping, communication and education for consumers.
